Duplicate Bridge

Duplicate Bridge games begin on Monday, May 25th at 1:00 pm and will run through September 7th. These games will run every Monday and Thursday from 1-4 pm.

Duplicate games are sanctioned by the ACBL and will award master points to those who place in the top half of their field.

A "Call for Players" email will be sent weekly. If you need a partner, contact Beth and she'll find one for you.

To be included in Duplicate Bridge communications, contact Beth Howard at [email protected] or call/text 910-398-3632.

$5 per player, refreshments will be served.

Social Bridge

The weekly Social Bridge begins on Wednesday, May 27th and will run through September 2nd. This game runs every Wednesday at 1 PM. You do not need a partner to participate.

The group was formed to provide a bridge opportunity for players of all levels to meet new and old friends, play fun bridge and learn from each other. We do talk across the table and sometimes will even ask someone at an adjoining table for help with a bid. This is a great opportunity to meet players from all levels to give you the confidence to move into the duplicate game if desired.

If you would like to be included in Social Bridge communications, please contact Beth Howard at [email protected] or call/text 910-398-3632.

$5 per player, refreshments will be served.

A Reminder of our Rules & Regulations

The club is becoming increasingly active as the weather warms, and we are delighted to welcome everyone back to Figure 8 Island. As we approach the summer months, we kindly ask that all members keep the club’s Rules & Regulations in mind, as outlined below:

RULES & REGULATIONS, DRESS CODE:

Lunch

Casual. Shirt and shorts required for Gentlemen. Cover-ups required for ladies. Shoes must be worn at all times when visiting the Clubhouse. Please, no tank tops or exposed midriffs. Cut-offs are never allowed in the dining rooms.

Dinner

Casual. Collared shirts (no t-shirts) and Bermuda length shorts are appropriate for Gentlemen; equally appropriate attire for ladies is requested. Please, no tank tops or exposed midriffs. Cut-offs are never allowed in the dining rooms. Hats and ball caps are prohibited inside the Clubhouse in the evening. Jeans are permitted in the Club.

RULES & REGULATIONS, CONDUCT:

It is spring and we are beginning to see increased incidents of apparent excessive alcohol consumption as guests are arriving for dinner at the Club.

Please be reminded, as a Member-Of-Record, you are responsible for the behavior of your guests, at all times while on the Club campus. That responsibility should begin prior to entering the club grounds, and throughout your visits. Taking responsibility after an offending incident has occurred, while expected, is too late, and in fact a failure of responsibility.
